Wouldn’t educating children early on about mental health and self awareness be the key to prevention on substance use?
I hear all the time working with young people that they believe they use weed and Xanax for their anxiety and continue on to build the dependence on to the addiction they are facing today.
You hear about the 4 pillars but you never get to hear the outcomes of what the prevention pillar has accomplished.
Wouldn’t it be great to hear how many addictions were prevented?
I know it’s a big ask and not sure even how we could accomplish such a task but we need to consider more can be done.
Let’s get mental health and addiction to be a priority in our schools as a policy rather than a risk mitigation based on evidence because the evidence is mortality.
